Arsenal scouts were recently in Portugal as we ramp up our interest in Porto’s duo Danilo Peirera and Andre Silva.
According to Sportswitness via The Daily Cannon, Gunners had representatives present at Porto’s 4-1 win over Pacos Ferreira last Sunday.
The reports suggest Arsenal must have been watching Danilo and Silva both of whom have been linked with a move to the Emirates for quite sometime.
The duo only had 30 minutes to impress clubs scouts but that shouldn’t be a problem as it wasn’t the first time we have watched them in action.
Danilo, a box to box midfielder has long been touted as a possible midfield reinforcements for Arsenal while Silva is seen as the world class striker the Gunners are craving for.
Both players will be difficult to lure away from the Estadio do dragao, as they both recentlysigned a contract extension with huge release clauses. The Portuguese club won’t be under any pressure to sell their star men and Arsenal will only have a chance of signing the duo if we meet their respective release clauses which is a combined €120m.
That means smashing the club record transfer fee currently held by Mesut Ozil twice in one summer. It is unlikely Arsenal will do that, hence a move for the duo doesn’t look feasible. However things can change quickly in football, you never can tell.
