LEAKED: Revealed The Five Key Position Wenger Plans On Replacing

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has urged Arsenal to strengthen its spine this summer.

Wenger is preparing for what would be a busy summer at the Emirates, with the club lining up at least five positions which needs to be strengthened ahead of next season.

And Merson has urged Arsenal to improve three key central positions if it must start challenging for major honors again. The renowned pundit believes Wenger needs to splash the cash on a centre defender, a centre midfielder and a centre-forward.

“There needs to be a lot of change, a lot of change,” he said on Sky Sports, as quoted by The Daily Star.

“If he stays for me they need a centre-half, they need a holding midfield player and a centre- forward which is the spine, which is always worrying.

“That is one thing you always need if you want to be champions of any country. He needs to do that.

Many may argue against Merson’s opinion because we seem yo have enough numbers in these positions but I must say I agree with him. The quality we have in those positions are well below the standard required to challenge for titles and we must try to improve our quality in those key positions if we must do better.

Chelsea is a perfect example, the arrival of David Luiz and N’Golo Kante in the summer alongside the rejuvenation of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard helped catapulted them from a team that finished 10th last year to Champions. That’s to show how much impact quality players in those key positions can have on a team. The ball is now on Arsenal’s court to recruit the right players, I hope we recruit well this summer.
