Arsenal have been handed a huge boost in the race to sign FC Porto duo Danilo Pereira and Andre Silva.
Pereira, a midfielder and Silva, a striker are reportedly summer targets of Arsenal as Wenger prepares to rebuild his squad ahead of next season.
The duo have been scouted by club scouts on numerous occasions and Wenger is expected to follow those trips with a concrete interest in the summer.
And if the report emanating from Portugal as cited in The Daily Cannon is anything to go by, it means Arsenal have a good chance of signing the duo.
According to the report, Porto are keen to raise money from players sales this summer and are prepared to sell some of its stars.
Danilo, Silva and Brahimi – another player who has been linked with a move to the Emirates in the past are said to be up for sale. The Portuguese side are hoping to make €115m for the trio which would be on a high side considering neither players have fully impressed this season.
Wenger is keen on a centre midfielder and Danilo is one of those names that is reportedly being monitored. The centre forward position is another area the boss wants to strengthen and reports claim Silva is under consideration.
Porto’s willingness to sell is a huge boost but there could be another problem – both players won’t come cheap. I don’t think Wenger would want to pay big for any of them considering the fact that they are yet fully proven themselves at the top level.
