Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has admitted he is delighted Aaron Ramsey proved those criticising him by scoring the winning goal in our victory against Chelsea in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The Welsh man has been under serious criticism from fans in regard his performance having scored just one goal and provided four assist in 23 appearances in the just-concluded season of the Premier League.
Ramsey has been hit with series of injuries which saw him struggle with a loss of form. Wenger started him in the FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley and Ramsey netted a 79th-minute winner with a close-range header to help Arsenal win their third FA Cup in four seasons.
Speaking to BBC Sport about Ramsey after his impressive performance in the FA Cup final at Wembley, former Arsenal striker Wright defended the Wales international.
“Ramsey gets a lot of stick but he always shows up for the ball, he always plays the way he believes he should. I’m delighted for him,” Wright said.
