Deal Done- Arsenal Target VERBALLY Agree To Join Club, Medicals BOOKED

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal are set to miss out Alexandre Lacazette, after Lyon’s president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed that the player has agreed to join Atletico Madrid.

The striker recently confirmed he will be leaving Lyon this summer as he eyes a move to one of Europe top clubs. he has scored over 100 goals for Lyon in 203 appearances.

Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Liverpool have all been linked with the striker in recent weeks but it is the Spanish club that is now leading the race for his services.

Aulas has revealed that the player already has an agreement to join Madrid this summer but the move will be dependent on if the Spanish side can overturn the transfer ban they are expected to serve.

“Alex has a verbal agreement with a club, Atletico, but there is no certainty since we have to wait for CAS to lift the ban,” he told L’Equipe, as quoted by Goal.

“We accepted Alex’s request to discuss exclusively with this club, but the other side of that is that this transfer is made on our terms.”

Aulas comments will come as a huge blow to Arsenal fans who are keen to see Lacazette line up at the Emirates next season. The French man has been a target of the club for long and we even had a €35m bid rejected for his services last summer.

With Wenger keen on signing a striker this summer, many of us had expected that we’ll quickly make a move for Lacazette but that appears not to be the happening.

We’ll need to act fast just like we did in Kolasinac’s case if we are to have any chance of luring Lacazette to the Emirates.
