Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has revealed his club’s interest in signing Alexis Sanchez.

With just about 12 months left on Sanchez’s contract, he has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain but Vidal has revealed Bayern are also keen on the forward.

Sanchez is expected to hold talks with Arsenal about his future this summer but reports are linking him with an exit due to Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Vidal says Bayern chiefs have asked him about Sanchez and he is looking forward to lining up alongside his compatriot at the Allianz Arena.

“When they have asked me, I have always said that it is the player who has to come here, he has a year left in his contract, because he is much easier to pay now than if he were three years old,” Vidal told Sport, as quoted by Squawka.

“Decision for him and for Chile also, because he is a player that helps us a lot.

“He is a very good player, he has a lot of quality and he is young, we hope he will be able to come here because here he will show all his quality.”

However, Arsenal remains hopeful of convincing the Ozil and Sanchez to sign a new contract the Gunners are set to offer Sanchez a new contract with a two-year extension in excess of £275,000-a-week to keep him at the club until 2020.

They have already offered Ozil £280,000-a-week to stay even though the German midfielder’s representatives have been pushing for around £350,000-a-week.

The two contract situations will be discussed at Arsenal’s board meeting on Tuesday when they will also resolve Wenger’s future with a two-year contract on the table.

Reports suggest the Arsenal board is expected to make an announcement by Wednesday on Wenger’s future but they are ready to back him heavily in the transfer window and on contracts.
