Arsenal target Kylian Mbappe has reportedly rejected a move to Arsenal and Manchester City as he revealed he would like to join Real Madrid according to reports in Spain.

The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent times but the striker has made it clear that his desire is to join Real Madrid, although it remains uncertain whether he will join the Spanish champions this summer or next year.

Mbappe revealed he doesn’t want to join a club where he will play less and sit on the bench, he is also adamant about leaving Monaco as he has enjoyed the regular play time with the Ligue 1 Champions this season.

He revealed he will consult the French national coach Didier Deschamps about which club to join.

‘Why play less?’ said Mbappe.

‘I’ll have time to reflect on that and, no, I’m not afraid to leave.

‘I dreamed of Zidane the player, not the coach.

‘Zidane the player made me dream and still makes me dream when I watch videos of him.

‘The coach is completely different, he is a great coach who has quickly achieved results and continues to develop.

‘The advice of [Deschamps] counts. That will not guide my choice, but it will count. I do not think I will go to his office to ask.

‘But there’s plenty of time to think about all this. There are important matches for France.’

Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane admits he would welcome the signing of Mbappe this summer.

‘[Mbappe] is a very good player with tremendous potential,’ Varane told TF1.

‘He has something that only great players have.
