Reports making the round suggest Arsenal are set to smash their transfer record in signing Alexandre Lacazette.
The French striker has reportedly snubbed a potential move to Atletico Madrid in January to sign a deal for Arsenal.
If the reports are true, Arsenal will smash their current transfer fee which they paid for Mesut Ozil in 2013 for £42.5million from Real Madrid.
The BBC confirmed a fee has already been agreed for Lacazette and all what is remaining is for the 26-year-old to jet in for medicals.
However, Lyon are reportedly desperate to find a replacement before closing the finer details of any move.
Jean-Michel Aulas says that he is preparing for Lacazette’s exit – but will only let him leave if he can find a replacement.
Aulas said: “Alexandre should have left for Atletico, but that could not be done.
“He wants to leave and we want to keep him, but the decision is not made.
“The case would obviously be the arrival of a player capable of scoring 25 to 30 goals per year.
“It will be a French international or a player of a very large European club.”
