Reports suggest Arsenal are preparing an improved bid for Monaco star Thomas Lemar after seeing a £30m bid rejected.
The Express claim Arsenal are set to table a £40m bid for the Frenchman who has been sensational for Monaco last season having guided them in winning the Ligue 1 title ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.
Monaco are said to be determined to hold on to the 21-year-old, having already lost Bernardo Silva to Manchester City this summer.
But interestingly the French club have left Lemar out of the promotional picture for their new away shirt which has just been released.
Mbappe takes centre stage one again in the new picture for the away kit – but enticingly for Gunners fans, Lemar is conspicuous by his absence.
The French champions are trying to hold onto as many of their star players as possible this summer but have conceded that they will lose some of their key men.
Bernardo Silva has already left for Manchester City and the Gunners will want to complete the Lemar deal before Kylian Mbappe’s predicted transfer away from the club happens, otherwise Monaco will likely try hard to hold onto the 21-year-old.
