The Premier League chase is expected to be a race between six clubs but in the transfer window, some clubs have already started slugging it out between themselves to bolster their squad.

Spain international and Real Madrid attacking midfielder Marco Asensio has been a subject of bids from Arsenal and their capital rivals Liverpool, this report is according to reports in Spain.

Asensio, 21, joined Real Madrid from Mallorca in 2014 and despite being highly rated, he has found it difficult to dislodge the likes Gareth Bale, Isco, and Cristiano Ronaldo from the attack of Los Blancos. Last term, he featured in 23 League games for Madrid but started in only 11 of those games.

According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, the winger is attracting interest from top European giants but Juventus and Liverpool have joined Arsenal to make offers for the star.

Real Madrid are heavily linked with a move for French teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe and the speculation has thrown the future of Gareth Bale in doubt. If Mbappe is signed, Bale and Asensio would fall down the selection pecking order of Madrid and so, the Spaniard is considering his future.

Arsenal have failed in their attempt to sign Thomas Lemar but Asensio is a cheaper option and Wenger may just be considering a move for the star.

Asensio can play on the flank and from the midfield, Liverpool may be keeping tabs on him as a possible replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

According to transfermarkt, the Spaniard is valued at 20,00 Mill. €.
