The summer of 2013 saw Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger defied his own ideology and budged to the transfer market inflation at that time to sign Mesut Ozil in a 42million pounds deal. Since joining the Gunners, Ozil has formed an integral part of Arsenal’s team which has culminated in three FA Cup trophies.

The Germany international has been blameworthy for some of the woes of Arsenal and he has mostly being fingered for his shambolic performances. Nonetheless, the Gunner fans will be hoping that he improves upon his game and stake a claim in Arsene Wenger’s squad.

However,  Arsenal have started their 2017/2018 Premier League campaign with a flying start but they may be without Mesut Ozil sooner. Report emanating from Spain reveals that Ozil has offered himself to Barcelona  and he wants out of Arsenal.

Ozil is in the final year of his current contract with Arsenal and despite improved offers made to him, the 28-year old is yet to put pen to paper a new deal. If he does not sign an extension, the playmaker will be free to leave the Emirates on a free transfer next summer.

According to Don Balon, the agent of Ozil has offered him to Barcelona. The report claims Ozil is fed up with life at Arsenal and he has informed his agent to discuss a move with Barcelona.

Barcelona have been on the search for players that would join them in the stead of Neymar and despite their colossal offer for Philippe Coutinho, they have been unable to lure the player to Camp Nou but Ozil could be a fine option.

Barcelona have a huge chunk of cash to throw around but we hope the report is not true despite the criticism Ozil continues to unfairly receive.
