JULIAN DRAXLER could spark a frantic bidding war between the Premier League’s big boys in the coming days with Paris Saint-Germain considering selling.
Following the arrival of Neymar from Barcelona, Draxler has fallen down the pecking order and could find himself surplus to requirements.
And news of Draxler’s availability has prompted interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, the Daily Star reports.
PSG have already allowed Jese Rodriguez to join Stoke City on a season-long loan, and other players, including Draxler, could be set to follow, per French football writer Matt Spiro:
The Germany international only joined PSG in January for a reported fee of £30m but was quick to make an impression in Ligue 1, as illustrated by WhoScored.com:
Draxler was also part of the victorious German side who won the FIFA 2017 Confederations Cup and was named the tournament’s best player.
Arsene Wenger has been a long-term admirer of the Germany international and the 23-year-old confirmed in 2014 they had tried to sign him back then.
Despite Arsenal being most keen on snapping him up, the bookies have Liverpool as the favourites to sign Draxler.
