To think Arsenal have come-off the market after spending just £52million in the transfer window, is one thought that torments most of the Gunners fans. However, Arsene Wenger has a knack for doing business late in the transfer window, there is still time for one of two new faces to be added to the Gunners squad.

Arsenal have joined Liverpool in the race for the signature of Spanish and Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez, according to report.

Vazquez ascended through the grades of Real Madrid academy and broke into the senior team of Los Blancos in 2015 after a loan spell at Espanyol.  Nonetheless, he has struggled to dislodge the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in the attack.

He made just 12 La Liga starts for the La Decima holders last season and the rise to prominence of Marco Asensio and Isco has further thrown him down the selection pecking order of Madrid. He featured for just 10mins in Madrid’s opening day win over Deportivo Lacuruna and his best bet at playing regularly is away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Since the signing of Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal have seen their transfer activities stalled and Wenger is looking add a winger to his team. Spanish media outlet Don Balon claims Arsenal and Liverpool are weighing up a move for the star.

Arsenal have failed in several attempts to prise Thomas Lemar away from Monaco but Wenger is not giving up on signing a winger. He will have to contend with Liverpool who, are also looking to bolster their attack.

According to transfermarkt, the 26-year-old is valued at 15,00 Mill. €.
