Watford have reportedly agreed a fee for Kieran Gibbs, and are negotiating personal terms ahead of a transfer.
The London Evening Standard says talks are ongoing over a move to Watford for the 27-year-old after the Gunners finally indicated they were willing to drop their original £15 million asking price.
That valuation put off a host of interested clubs including Newcastle, Brighton, Bournemouth and forced Watford to turn to other targets including Middlesbrough defender George Friend.
West Brom quickly ended their interest after Arsenal rejected an offer earlier in the summer. However, the club are now thought to be willing to do business at around £7m having told Gibbs he can leave after entering the final year of his contract.
The left-back’s representatives have held talks with Galatasaray and an unnamed German club but he would prefer to remain in England. A final fee is yet to be agreed with personal terms also outstanding but all parties believe a deal is possible before the transfer window closes next Thursday.
