The tale of Arsenal’s transfer window remains unchanged this summer – Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez have headlined the media wave of the Gunners but the reports have either turned out to be merely rumours or Arsene Wenger has failed to meet their valuation.

The Gunners fans may have given up the hope of seeing a new entrant at the Emirates before the close of window but reports have indicated that Arsenal are still weighing up a deal for Riyad Mahrez.

Mahrez had a barnstorming campaign in the penultimate season where he led Leicester City to the Premier League. However, he had a forgettable campaign last term as Leicester City struggled in the league. He was on the radar of Arsenal last summer but he was handed an improve contract and he decided to stay put at the King power Stadium.

Having failed to sign him last summer, Arsenal were yet linked with a move for the star this summer but it appears that his valuation has been the stumbling block. Roma had seen a  £32m bid rebuffed for the star, with the Foxes believed to be holding out for  £50million.

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are very much interested but Liverpool are also keen on a deal for the star. Arsenal have a plethora of attacking options but most of the players have failed to fulfill their potentials and Mahrez would be an improvement to Arsenal on the right flank

The transfer window is very much opened and knowing Arsene Wenger, we can still see a new face at the Emirates on deadline day.
