The aftermath of his side thumping by Liverpool, furious Arsene Wenger has been reported to be involved in a hot training ground row.

The Gunners had started their season on a shaky note and their woes were compounded by rampant Liverpool who condemned them to a second consecutive defeat after being thrashed 4-0 by the Reds at Anfield on Saturday.

Wenger’s men caught a shadow of what they ought to be as they were second to everything on the pitch and were clearly dominated by Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Goals from Roberto Firmino, Saido Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge put Arsenal in a situation where they may have to play catch-up with their title rivals as they now sit 16th in the league table.

And Wenger, who described his side’s performance as disastrous, was said to have met with his coaching crew on Monday, with the reports that a visibly angry Wenger is ready to freeze out of the team players putting up nonchalant attitude.

Alexis Sanchez was handed his first appearance for the Gunners this season but couldn’t make any impact while summer signings Alexandre Lacazatte and Sead  Kolasinac were named on the bench for reasons best known to Wenger.

And understandably, there were chants of “Wenger out” from the Arsenal supporters.

Wenger signed a two-year contract extension at the end of last season with the expectation of , if possible, winning the Premier League title.

But they have started the new season where they finished off last season. Nevertheless, Wenger still believes he can make one or two signings before the transfer window closes tomorrow.
