Sky Sport pundit Joleon Lescott says he would sign for Arsenal ahead of north London rivals Tottenham.
Tottenham finished above Arsenal last season in the Premier League for the first time since the 1994/95 campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side had been threatening to do so for a number of seasons but finally, put a stop to the annual ‘St Totteringham’s Day’ for a year at least.
Lescott admits Tottenham looks like a brighter prospect for players at the moment.
However, the former Manchester City defender, who is currently a free agent, says he would have a better chance of getting into the Arsenal side.
“Me personally I would probably sign for Arsenal due to the fact that Spurs have a better defence and I probably wouldn’t play!” Lescott said on Sky Sports.
“In terms of progression and looking forward you probably would say Spurs.
“The way they’re building a new stadium, the players and the squad that they’ve got, the way they like to play.
“The last three years they have been consistently in the Champions League spots.”
