Everton manager Ronald Koeman will reportedly make a new approach for Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Merseysiders were one of three teams to show the massive interest in the 30-year-old during the summer, along with Lyon and top-flight rivals West Ham United.
Giroud earlier claimed that he contemplated taking up the offer of leaving the Emirates Stadium after being left miserable with his lack of regular playing time last campaign, being handed just 14 Premier League and Champions League starts mixed in 2016-17.
As reported by The Mirror, Everton are set to jump with a £40m offer after failing to truly succeed Romelu Lukaku with a like-for-like option during the summer window.
It is believed that Giroud is the Merseyside club’s top target. However Bournemouth ace Joshua King will also be eyed if they again miss out on the Frenchman.
