Jack Wilshere reportedly rejected a new contract at Arsenal in the summer, and he is set to leave the club at the end of the season.
According to The Sun, The Gunners were willing to offer the 25-year-old a new deal in the summer, but it was rejected by the English international who is still frustrated because of being sent out on loan at Bournemouth last season.
A source close to Wilshere revealed in the interview with the newspaper:
“Arsenal didn’t want to loan him again unless he signed a new contract. But he didn’t want to sign.
“If Jack gets back into the Arsenal team on a regular basis and feels he is an important one for the club’s plans, there is still a chance he might stay.
“However, as things stand, he is still of the view that he will be leaving at the end of the season.”
The 25-year-old’s current contract at the Emirates Stadium expires next summer, and after that, he could leave the club as a free agent.
Jack Wilshere is the Arsenal’s academy product. He played 161 games so far and scored 12 goals for the club. He won the two FA cup titles with The Gunners.
