Negotiations have been put on hold until the 25-year-old player shows his fitness, yet the Gunners will now have to move to get ahead of rival clubs who will be lining up offers.
Everton and Roma have pursued Wilshere in the past, but it is likely that, if he shows fitness, Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea will also show interest in a midfielder who would help boost their quota of home-grown players in European matches.
Arsenal academy graduated player Jack Wilshere has played in 161 games so far and scored 12 goals for the club. The 25-year-old England international midfielder won the two FA Cups with The Gunners.
