English Media giants Daily Star report that English Premier league giants Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in signing Hungary and former Liverpool flop Peter Gulacsi. Having been a fringe player all through his time at Anfield – where he never made an appearance in Liverpool’s colors, he went on loan to Hereford, Tranmere and then
Hull City. He was one of Rafa Benitez’s signings at Anfield, and although Benitez saw raw potential in him, he still was not satisfied with his performances, and the club eventually allowed him to join Red Bull Salzburg in 2013 for free.
In Austria, however, his career experienced a massive turn-around. He went on to make over 60 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg. Afterwards, he made a switch to Germany with Red Bull Leipzig, and is currently part of the German league side’s Champions’ league squad. At present, he is atop the Goalkeeper rankings compiled by German tabloid Kicker; and so far, he has only let in eleven goals in his nine games.
His exploits have surely not gone unnoticed by top clubs across Germany and Europe. Arsenal have reportedly indicated interest in his services. Wenger allegedly sees him as a good replacement for the ageing Petr Cech, who recently clocked 35 years and will run out of contract in less than two years. Chelsea, on the other hand, are
reportedly beginning to prepare for life after Thibaut Courtois, who has been heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
