Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud has announced he came close to moving Premier League rivals Everton during the summer.
The 31-year-old was linked with a summer move away from the Emirates after falling down the pecking order under Arsene Wenger.
But, the Frenchman ended up remaining put and has found the back of the net twice so far this campaign for the North Londoners.
However, speaking to Canal Plus, Giroud explained how he held advanced negotiations with Everton before deciding to stay in north London.
“I had the opportunity to leave [Arsenal]. I was very close to another English club, Everton, But I think I made the best choice.” – Giroud claimed.
