Arsene Wenger is set to replace Alexis Sanchez with Nabil Fekir should the Chilean attacker decide to leave the North London club for Manchester City in January, per reports.
Arsene Wenger has been monitoring the Olympique Lyonnais forward since the last transfer market, and he is now ready to make an official approach to the player’s representative as Sanchez move to the Etihad Stadium looks like a done deal.
According to the Telegraph, the 24-year-old is Wenger’s prime target among players listed as the Chilean replacement.
Fekir is in hot form for the Ligue 1 side. He has scored 15 goals and made three assists in just 22 matches in the first half of the season. He was also on target in the first Lyonnais’ match of the year in the Coupe de France competition.
Lacazette who moved to the Emirates stadium in the summer could be joined by his former Lyon teammate before the end of the transfer market.
Arsenal could also lose Mesut Ozil to either Manchester United or Juventus who have shown their interest in the Germany international playmaker.
Some pundits are questioning Wenger’s decision to replace an established striker with an upcoming player who is yet to experience how physical the Premier League is. They believe Wenger should sign a well-experienced player who has proven to be a consistent goalscorer.
