Arsenal were embarrassed back to back in four days by Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final and the Premier League.
The Gunners were beaten 3nill in both clash and the French manager Arsene Wenger has been slammed and asked to stand down.
Wenger has been slammed for his ‘arrogant’ stance by not stepping down as Arsenal boss.
That is the opinion of former Arsenal star Stewart Robson, who was left far from impressed with Wenger’s comments following the Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City.
Arsenal supporters steered clear from going to the game with empty seats scattered all over the stadium for all to see.
There is a dejected feeling among Arsenal fans regarding where the club are heading with Wenger in charge and some believe he is tarnishing his legacy by overstaying his welcome.
But the Frenchman is refusing to step down, suggesting he could even stay beyond the summer to the end of his contract in 2019.
However, Robson believes Wenger’s not thinking about the best interests of the club by deciding to stay.
“Did you see his interview yesterday?,” he said on talkSPORT.
“‘I’ve turned down the world to stay at Arsenal’ – he’s so arrogant, it’s untrue.
“The reason he stays at Arsenal is he can do what he wants, he’s not under pressure and he gets paid nearly £10million a year – that’s why he stays at Arsenal, not because he’s loyal to the club.
“If he was loyal to Arsenal and loved Arsenal so much, he would have left two or three years ago.”
