Jan Oblak, a reported target for both Arsenal and Liverpool, has revealed that he is still unsure where he will be playing football in the future.
In an interview with Spanish outlet AS, as cited by TalkSport, the Slovenian international said he is unsure about what the future holds, but he is fully focused on helping Atletico Madrid win the Europa League this season and then he’ll see what happens in the summer.
For the moment I’m here, I have a contract until 2021. If I continue, we will grow together and if not, the club will grow too. There is no news, I have the contract that I signed two years ago. No-one knows what will happen, not even me. I prefer to finish the season well and I hope that [it will end] with a trophy. Then we will see, but I have a contract. I do not think of anything other than Atletico.
It has been reported that the 25-year-old has a release clause of £87.5m in his contract and that both Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in him, but not at that price.
However, Oblak is fully focused on ending the season well with his club side before seeing what the future brings.
Arsenal are being linked with a number of different goalkeepers who can come in as long-term successors to Petr Cech and Oblak is just one of the names being mentioned.
