Benzema and Di Maria to Join Arsenal In January

Karim-Benzema-PI_20130511060301909_660_320The stunning move by Ozil to Arsenal on deadline day has continued to be the best and most talk about move of the transfer window. While former teammates, other players and even managers have been in shock over the move, it was also reported that Ozil fanned the flame by declaring he would have even joined Arsenal for free.

In some way, that conversation flicked a switch in me and made me realize what I had lost at Madrid – transparency, trust, respect. Arsene told me exactly how he saw me, how he wanted to use me, what he expected of me. I had no control over the transfer fee. I would have even joined Arsenal for free. (Die Welt )

In an interview with Ozil, he disclosed that it was a call from Wenger that ignited his desire to join the Team. He also spoke  in German not in English about the things he lost at Madrid due to his Arsenal move, respect, transparency and trust. When Real wants to bring in a Galactico, they sacrifice a good player, we have seen them do this in the past. Ozil’s Performance for the club has been remarkable. But his past performance doesn’t make sense any more when Real Madrid is ready to let go of a player. Madrid has sacrificed players in the past for example; they sacrificed Fernando Morientes for Ronaldo de Lima, also sacrificed Wesley Sneijder for Kaka and Robben for Ronaldo. Prior to their new arrival of Galactico (Bale), they had to sacrifice another very good player and that player was Ozil.

The departure of Ozil from the club only gives further credence to the fact that the futures of Di Maria and Benzema might are not safe at the club. Now that Isco is the picture, Di Maria will find regular play time as an expensive luxury and should Real Madrid arm-twist Liverpool into let go of the marquee strike Luis Suarez (another Galactico) in the winter window, they might just leave the exit door open for Benzema and Di Maria to recover the money spent on purchasing the signature of Bale. |Wenger also told the press that Benzema and Di Maria are Arsenal’s targets and we still have money to spend which means Arsenal are ready to spend any amount to get them.

Real Madrid’s loss has become Arsenal’s gain. The castaways from Bernabeu always hit it big somewhere else from the likes of Robben and Sneijder have been hugely successful at Bayern and Inter, I believe Ozil will tow the same path at Arsenal.
