Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed the latest injury news ahead of this weekend’s home clash against Liverpool, with good news as Mattieu Flamini’s groin injury potentially not as bad as earlier reported and could see him available for next weekend’s trip to Manchester.
However there is some bad news as Serge Gnabry will likely miss out on the clash due to an ankle injury he picked up during last weekend’s tie with Crystal Palace.
The German starlet was in action last weekend at Crystal Palace and drew the penalty that opened the scoring for the Gunners, however he picked up an ankle injury during his cameo causing him to miss out of the Capital One Cup in mid-week.
The Gunners skipper Mikel Arteta is also set to return to the starting lineup after serving his one match suspension in the mid-week’s Capital One Cup.
Wenger also went further revealing the following team news in his pre-match press conference:
Basically we have just Arteta back. Gnabry will not be available. Flamini is a short-term injury. Maybe he will be back for Manchester United.
