Argentina and FC Barcelona star man, Lionel Messi has heaped praises on the trio of Arsenal and Germany star Mesut Ozil, Bayern Munich’s Arjen Robben and former Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie now of Manchester United.
Ozil and Messi had gone head to head many times in the La liga when the German was still with Real Madrid while Robben was the tormentor in chief when Bayern Munich defeated Barcelona 7-0 on aggregate last season in the semi finals of the UEFA champions league while Van Persie was a key member of the Arsenal team that staged a surprise come back against Barca in 2011.
Revealing his admiration for the trio, Messi said
“Robin van Persie, Arjen Robben and Mesut Ozil are great players. Ozil is Germany’s undisputed star. He’s top class and incredibly creative,” the Ballon d’Or holder told De Telegraaf.
“Van Persie is a very complete player. He is an all-round attacker who can score loads of goals. Robben is a class act as well, but a different type of player.
“He’s very unpredictable. He’s very quick with his dribbles and can leave several players behind him with one acceleration.”
I agree with Messi. Ozil oozes class and as much as I hate to admit it, there are only few strikers in world football at the moment who are better than Robin Van Persie. While Robben has proved his class by leading Bayern Munich to 2 UEFA champions league finals in the last 2 seasons, winning one.
