German Giants Set to Squash Arsenal’s Hope As They Enter Race For Arsenal Prime Target- Reports.

Arsenal’s pursuit of German starlet and Schalke attacking midfielder Julian Draxler could be blocked by German giants, who are contemplating an offer to bring the 20-year old to the Alianz Arena, reports the Daily Express.

Popular Norwegian football journalist Jon Aage Fjortoft was quoted about the Draxler transfer situation as saying,

“I understand Bayern will try to make a deal with Schalke where they pay part of fee now, but Draxler will come to Bayern 2015″.

“I have been told that Arsenal felt they “lost” player when Bayern entered the stage. But I understand player hasn’t decided yet.”

With Bayern Being thought to be preparing a deal that would see them pay part of the fee up front now, but allow Draxler to remain with Schalke next season.

Manchester United also have been reportedly keen on landing Julian Draxler as United made another check on Arsenal’s £37million target in Schalke’s 2-1 win in Augsburg on Friday night.

Midfielder Draxler, 20, gave an eye-catching performance to underline his exciting potential. He made one of Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s two match-winning goals. And Draxler also had a goal disallowed in Schalke’s victory. United boss David Moyes has identified Germany as the place to recruit midfield talent.

Draxler had been extensively linked with Arsenal all through this season and was rumoured to be very close to sealing a switch to North London before Bayern Munich allegedly came in late for the prodigiously talented attacking midfielder in the winter following Arsenals’ failure to land the starlet.
