Arsene Wenger is planning a different and surprising line-up for tonights match at the Emirates against Swansea City following Arsenal’s 6-0 massacre at Chelsea.
Wojciech Szczesny, Olivier Giroud and Mikel Arteta are all in line to be dropped from the side for the Premier League visit of Swansea City.
Following Arsenal’s 6-0 mauling by Chelsea last weekend, Arsene Wenger plans to shake his team for tonights match against Swansea City following the abject surrender of his team to Jose Mourinho’s Premier League leaders last saturday, which virtually ended Arsenal’s hopes of winning the title.
To this regard, Szczesny is set to be replaced in goal by Lukasz Fabianski following some error-strewn displays while Wenger is considering leaving attack spearhead Giroud out of the squad completely and giving him a rest ahead of Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash against Manchester City.
Yaya Sanogo is set to make his first premier league start since his switch to Arsenal and is expected to replace Giroud upfront.
Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom is also expected to make the squad for tonights match at the Emirates following his return from a loan spell at Coventry City on Sunday.
With Nicklas Bendtner completely out of the first-team picture following his disciplinary troubles and not expected to play for Arsenal again, Akpom could be handed a place on the bench against Swansea if Giroud is given a total break.
Arteta, who has been widely criticised for his display at Chelsea, could make way in central midfield for either Mathieu Flamini or January loan signing Kim Kallstrom, who is now fully fit and available to make his Arsenal debut.
