Arsenal Give Up On Title Chase To Fight For CL Spot.

The gunners last night threw away a 2-1 lead at home against Swansea City after having come from behind to take the lead in a match that all but relinquish the title hopes of the gunners.

Just a week ago, Arsene Wenger was preparing for a crucial fixture against Chelsea in which victory would have seen us become one of the favourites for the league title, however fast forward 5 days and two horrific results have seen us relegated to battlers for fourth place.

The match against Swansea took off with Arsenal conceding first in the 11th minute, but the gunners responded in the second half of the encounter scoring 2 goals in less than 2 minutes. However an on goal from Mathieu Flamini in the 90 minute caused the gunners 2 valuable points.

After the game, Wenger when asked on the team’s title chances said…

“I think at the moment it is not the biggest worry we have. We have to be realistic a little bout and try to come back a bit in the next game. We have to look behind us and of course try to look in front of us”.

Also when asked on securing a top-four place Wenger said…

“Everton won, so we have to focus and prepare well for the next game. It will be open until the end but you can still have surprises as well”.

“Man City had a good result tonight, they look a bit unstoppable. They are favourites as they have two games in hand, them and Chelsea are favourites now for the title. We have not too much room to come back into it, but we have to get some players back. It is difficult to fight with half the team out”.

“We have to do as well as we can and accept our position at the end of the season. But at the moment [our focus] is to recover from a high disappointment and recover for the next game. It is a huge game”.
