Arsenal Make Formal Bid to Land “Iranian Messi” – Reports

Arsenal are currently holding talks with the ‘Iranian Messi’, with the player himself admitting there has been interest in him, according to the Express.

Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun has admitted that talks between his representatives and Arsenal are still ongoing and have gotten ‘serious.’ After the player originally admitted that Arsenal had been in touch, some press outlets declared that the deal was done however it seems that this is not the case.

However recent reports suggests that Arsenal have offered Rubin Kazan £2 million for the striker, who was scouted while playing for Iran’s Under-20 team last year and has attracted interest since then.

The 19 year-old forward is known as the Iranian Messi and had been attracting the attention of a number of other clubs such as Ac Milan and Barcelona.

The Iranian striker in an interview this week said…

“it looks like there are three clubs who we are in contact with, which were serious. They were Milan, Arsenal, Juventus and Barcelona, but as you know Barcelona has backed out due to their situation. For right now we are having serious talks with Milan and Arsenal and I think they are talking more today, but for now all my hard work is for Rubin Kazan.”

“We still have seven games, and maybe after those games we can come up with a decision. I’m very honoured to have Arsenal looking to work with me, but right now I’m all about Rubin and I will try my hardest for this team until the end of the season. We can figure it out after the season.”

The young Iranian star speaking to Russian television show 90, also said: “There already are solid offers coming from both Arsenal and AC Milan.

“Both their representatives are about to meet Rubin Kazan management next Thursday”

Azmoun recently told media outlets that he had been scouted by teams and that Arsenal scouts had approached him. He also said that a transfer to the Emirates ‘would be a dream’, should any representatives from the side make a move for him.
