Arsenal had earlier today received a massive blow to their title hope and top four flight finish as their trip to Everton saw them loose 3-0 in a rather appalling performance .
It is very disappointing now to know that in February the Gunners were 2 points clear off City and Chelsea with a massive 8 and 10 points above Liverpool and Everton respectively.
Following Arsenal’s disappointing and disgraceful performance against Everton today one would expect the ever faithful fans at Arsenal who have been clamoring for a better [New] management and results to go hard on Arsene Wenger and Stan Kroenke.
In earlier reports prior to the Arsenal Vs Man City match, a group of Arsenal fans held up a banner screaming the F letter word, asking the manager and majority shareholder Stan Kroenke to leave.
Over the past few years, a few of the fans have never hidden their displeasure about the club’s inability to invest in new signings. Various groups among the supporters have voiced out on several occasions about the manager’s refusal to buy top players in spite of the fact that the club could do with some quality players in key areas.
The protest might not be unconnected with the current situation
in the club where we now occupy the 4th spot, just a point above 5th placed Everton who although have a game at hand. having led the rest of the league for a very long time. The fans protested the clubs’ recent drop in form, and the almost obvious fact that another season is about coming to an end without anything to show for it; except of course, we are able to win the FA Cup.
The fans are obviously aggrieved with majority shareholder, Stan Kroenke
for his lack of investment in the team. Groups within the supporters have
never hidden their displeasure at manner in which the American runs the
club. The recent banner display capped a week described by many as one of the low moments of the club.
Arsenal suffered a heavy defeat in the hands of Chelsea 3 Saturday’s ago when they fell 6-0 to their fellow title rivals. As if that was not enough, they were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Swansea at the Emirates in a match many had expected them to pick all 3 points in order to give their title aspiration a boost after they lost to Chelsea followed by a draw to Manchester City at the Emirates and now loosing terribly to 5th placed Everton leaving our current 4th placed position hanging on the line.
Now some of the fans who apparently felt they have had enough of the
manager and the American thought it is time for them to give way. This
looks like a tall order considering the fact that Kroenke has always maintained that he is there for the long term.
Last January, the club spent the entire window trying to sign German
Wonderkid, Julian Draxler. Perhaps, one or two signings like that would
have helped the entire team especially now that they seem to be battling
with a lot of injuries to key players; with Walcott already ruled out for
the rest of the season.
The false hope is unreal. every year heartbreaking with our “Analogue Manager in a Digital world”
