Arsenals’ chances of snapping up “new Lionel Messi” seem to have taken a new turn, aside earlier reports that Real Madrid have joined the race for the Argentine, Hellas Verona are set to demand a fee of around £25million for the star player.
Although a handful of top European clubs are all also looking to battle it out for the signature of the 20-year old winger, Spanish giants Real Madrid are said to be up-front in the race as chiefs at Real Madrid have made a first move by making contact with the player’s representatives over a potential summer move.
According to talkSPORT, any interest Arsenal have in Hellas Verona winger Juan Manuel Iturbe could turn costly this summer with the Italian side set to demand a fee of £25million for the Argentina under-20 international.
Iturbe is currently on loan with the Serie A side from Portuguese champions Porto, but his deal is expected to be turned permanent this summer with the two club’s having agreed on a £12.5million fee when Iturbe arrived in Italy.
But Verona aren’t planning on keeping Iturbe too long, and will look to sell the former River Plate loanee immediately, looking to double their outlay in the process.
Aside the gunners bidding to land the talented winger, they will sure face an uphill battle for his signature as the young Argentine star has also stared up the interests of major clubs with the likes of, Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and AS Roma all closely watching the 20-year-old with an intent on swooping him up in the summer.
