Arsene Wenger earlier today in a press conference revealed that Kieran Gibbs, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Tomas Rosicky are doubts after picking up knocks this week and will face late fitness tests, with some reporters claiming the trio are unlikely to be passed fit. Also Mathiue Flamini is set to sit out the clash serving a suspension.
Below is my predicted Arsenal starting XI against Wigan on Saturday evening.
Lukasz Fabianski will definiely start in goal for Arsenal against Wigan. It’s a decision that has been made for a long time according to the Arsenal boss.
Bacary Sagna: The Frenchman When fit is Wenger’s first choice any day and will equally be a sure bet for Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final clash.
Nacho Monreal: Kieran Gibbs missed our 3-0 defeat to Everton last week with an ankle injury and it seems he’s still struggling to overcome the problem as the boss confirmed that the left-back remains a major doubt. If he fails to make it, Nacho Monreal will once again deputise in defence.
Per Mertesacker: The BFG is also another sure bet for Saturday’s FA Cup Semi-final tie. Although sloppy in our last game against EVerton but the German is geared up for an uptight performance this weekend.
Thomas Vermaelen: The Arsenal Skipper is set to make another appearance, pairing with Mertesacker at the heart of the Arsenal defence. It is expected that the Captian should put a decent performance whilst the return of Laurent Koscielny from injury on Tuesday.
Arteta: The Spaniard should once again feature for the gunners this weekend. Arsenal having already lost a lot of midfielders in recent weeks have been hit with more injury blows as Rosicky and Chamberlain have joined the likes of Wilshere and Ozil out with various degree’s of injury.
Aaron Ramsey: Arsenal boss himself confirmed Ramsey’s availability earlier today saying “Aaron Ramsey is ready to start against Wigan”. This should breathe a sigh of relieve for Arsenal fans after having Mathiue Flamini out serving suspension.
Santiago Carzola: Carzola should yet again make another appearance for the gunners this weekend against Wigan, and he is likely to have a good game with the return of Ramsey back into the Arsenal midfield set to raise his game as the two have in the past worked well together in the middle of the park a swell as going forward.
Kim Kallstrom: Following recent doubts of Rosicky and Ox, with flamini serving suspension. It is somewhat of a sign that the On-loan midfielder is set to have he’s first start for the gunners against Wigan this weekend.
Lukas Podolski: The German started the match against Everton last weekend and due to the somewhat shortened dept in the Arsenal squad, he will be handed another start against Wigan this weekend.
Giroud: The Frenchman delivered in Arsenals’ last FA Cup outing. He also started our last match against Everton last weekend and due to the somewhat shortened dept in the Arsenal squad, he will be handed another start against Wigan this weekend.
