Arsenal’s hope of signing German and Freiburg star Matthias Ginter seem to have been squashed with reports in Germany saying that the player have completed a deal of around £6.6million with fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
The gunners had in the summer been expected to enter talks for the young German in a bid to bring the star to the Emirates. But it now looks unlikely with German newspaper Bild reporting that a transfer fee has already been agreed.
There may also be bad news for the Gunners in their move for Nurnberg striker Josip Drmic, who was supposed to be a nailed on summer signing, with the same paper reporting that Dortmund will also look to sign him ahead of the new season.
Dortmund have had a difficult season this year and are set to make wholesale changes in order to get them challenging with Bayern Munich.
The German side have already signed Hertha Berlin striker Adrian Ramos to replace the outgoing Robert Lewandowski, Ji Dong-Won from Augsburg and Nuri Sahin from Real Madrid on a permanent basis, the Mirror reports.
