Arsenal struggled past Championship side Wigan on penalties to reach the FA Cup final. keeping the Gunners hope of winning their first trophy in nine years alive.
The gunners fell behind in the second half of the encounter handing Wigans’ Jordi Gomez a penalty after Per Matersacker brought a man down in the box with the Latics man making no mistake from the spot kick.
Arsenal had to dig deep and with less than 20 minutes to the end of regular time pulled one back through a Matersacker header which found the back of the net bringing the game back on level terms before dragging the game into penalties and then Goalkeeper Fabianski brought the magic out of him with two outsatanding saves to see the gunner through to the final.
After the match Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey took a selfie on the pitch to celebrate the moment, however the photo drew criticism for being a little bit too cringeworthy for the actual meaning of the result and the performance.
Personally the defeat was a Nervy one but was well deserved and the selfie was a way the lads expressed their joy after having made it through to the FA Cup final.
