Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has set his sights on Real Madrid’s Casemiro as possible summer transfer target.
Arsenal are said to be monitoring Casemiro’s situation at Real Madrid as they look to prepare for next season after a disappointing end to the current campaign, in which their participation in the Champions League hangs in the balance.
Gunners scouts have been keeping a close eye on Brazilian Casemiro in recent weeks and the deep-lying midfielder could be an ideal addition to the squad, which has been lacking in that area throughout the second half of the season.
Casemiro has found it hard to get past the likes of Xabi Alonso, Asier Illarramendi and Luka Modric for a place in the starting line-up with Sami Khedira still yet to return from injury.
The 22-year-old Brazilian has played five times for Brazil already and was lauded as a fantastic prospect when he joined the Spanish giants in 2013 from Sao Paulo.
However, opportunities have been limited this term at the Bernabeu and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is said to be plotting a move for the midfielder this summer.
With Arsenal believed to have plenty of cash reserves, and plenty of need to upgrade the quality of their squad, a move for Casemiro would be popular amongst fans and potentially prove to be not too excessive a fee.
