Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has set his sights on Real Madrids’ Morata as possible summer transfer target.
Arsenal are said to be monitoring Alvaro Morata’s situation at Real Madrid as they look to prepare for next season after a disappointing end to the current campaign.
Gunners scouts have been keeping a close eye on Spain International Alvaro Morata in recent weeks as the forward could be an ideal addition to the squad in the summer, which has been lacking in that area throughout the second half of the season.
Spain Under-21 international Morata is seen as a major acquisition for the London side that is in desperate need of a goalscorer if they intend to make a stronger challenge for the title next year.
The 21-year-old is likely to cost Arsenal in the region of £12million in order to prize him away from the Santiago Bernabeu where he has plied his trade as a promising young player since making his debut in the 2010/11 season.
However, Arsenal will face stiff competition from from Serie A giant Inter Milan, who are also keen on securing the Spaniards’ services either on loan or in a permanent deal.
With a transfer kitty of £100million expected to be available to Wengers’ disposal in the summer, £12million could as well be used to purchase the services of the Spaniard that have failed to nail a regular starting place under manager Carlo Ancelloti’s team this season due to stiff competitions from other stars available at the clubs disposal.
The player has managed just 32 appearances scoring 8 goals since he joined the senior ranks of Madrid in 2011.
