Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger had earlier stated categorically that the contract situation of the club’s first choice right back, Bacary Sagna is no more in the hands of the club as the player needs to make the decision to either stay or not.
“At the moment they (talks) are not progressing. We know what we want from him, he knows what is on the table and that is where we are.
“The ball is not in our camp anymore, it is in his camp,”Wenger concluded.
Sagna who is yet to make a decision on his future with the club have over the last few weeks dropped hints on his Twitter and Instagram accounts about his future – with all clues suggesting that the player would remain at the club. Not until fellow team mate Tomas Rosicky somewhat revealing the player decision over his future.
A brief look at Sagna’s earlier comments below as regards his future reveals a lot.
“Football is my passion….playing with the fighting spirit is a MUST #arsenal #london #number3 #luckynumber #puma #Instabraid “
It is worthy of note that in Sagna’s quote, he talked about“puma” which is the recently confirmed official sponsors of Arsenals’ kit next season.
Meaning the player is talking about his direct future at the Emirates.
“In life, what makes you going forward is how much you believe in what you doing and how much you want it…its a choice #london # arsenal #choice #desire #dedication #work “
It is worthy of note here that Sagna in a sequential manner talked about #london #arsenal #choice #desire #dedication and finally #work.
Further denoting that his choice and desire is to stay at the Emirates.
And now for the third and most recent hint which was dropped by fellow teammate and good friend Rosicky also going by popular social media outlet Insagram posting a picture today of himself and the Frenchman while commenting on the post saying…
“And he will be with us @therealbac #training oldtime #arsenal #afc #coyg #gooners #gunners #sagna #rosicky #supertom”
It would interest you to know that Sagna was never injured and there would be no reason for Rosicky to say “And he will be with us” except maybe Sagna has made up his mind about his future to truly be with us.
Although Fenerbache recently tempted the Frenchman with an outright 3-year deal and double the wage he currently gets at Arsenal, but i strongly believe the player would snub the offer and remain at the Emirates.
This would be a HUGE boost as Sagna would be an extremely difficult member of the squad to replace this summer. He’s been one of the most consistent players over the last seven years and I’ll be delighted if we’ve finally been able to tie him down to a new deal and keep him at the club.
Below is Rosicky’s picture post and comment…
