The transfer window has been kicked wide open following the end of the Arsenal season and as usual a lot of players have been linked with a move to the Emirates as well as several other Arsenal stars being linked with a move out of the Emirates.
Arsenal are targeting a replacement for Bacary Sagna, who is set to exit the Emirates this summer, and the Gunners are said to have opened preliminary talks to sign Toulouse right-back.
Toulouse defender Serge Aurier has opened the door to a move to Arsenal, saying it would be hard to turn down the FA Cup winners.
According to reports from Goal, Arsenal have opened preliminary talks with Toulouse over a £7 million move for the right-back.
The Gunners are looking for a replacement for Bacary Sagna, who has opened formal talks with Manchester City, and Aurier is keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium.
“I’ve never prioritised a club in England as even the promoted clubs are respectable,” he told Eurosport France. said Aurier.
“I will privilege the one that will show the most interest in me, that will give me the most game time. After that, you can’t really say ‘no’ to Arsenal.
“It’s a club with history, with a French manager, who has welcomed many French players.
“Arsenal are always thereabouts when it comes to trophies and a club that plays in the Champions League.” He concluded.
Aurier impressed Wenger’s scouting team with his performances for his Ligue 1 side Toulouse, in the just concluded season. And the young defender has been a regular provider as well as scorer this season from his right-back role, weighing in with six goals and six assists in league matches alone.
The 21-year-old Ivory Coast international, is set to feature in the World Cup this summer after being selected to make the trip to Brazil and is regarded as a versatile defender who can fill in at left-back and centre-back as well as his favourite right-back role.
