The transfer window has been kicked wide open following the end of the Arsenal season and as usual a lot of players have been linked with a move to the Emirates as well as several other Arsenal stars being linked with a move out of the Emirates.
Premier League side Sweansea City have slapped a whooping £25million price tag on the head of striker Wilfried Bony in an attempt to ward off interests from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
Both clubs have looked at Bony, who is preparing for his first World Cup with the Ivory Coast, after his impressive haul of 27 goals in 34 appearance in all competitions in his first season in England.
Bony would be keen to move, but Swansea want more than double the £12m fee they paid Vitesse Arnhem last summer.
The former Vitesse player who prior to his joining Premier league side Swansea, ended the season as the Eredivisie’s top scorer with 31 goals in 30 matches and was awarded the Golden Shoe for the best player in the Netherlands.
Wenger is reportedly keen on landing the prolific goal scoring Ivorian in the summer as he seeks to bloster his attacking options next season bringing in support for lone forward – Olivier Giroud , and although the Swans have slammed such a massive amount on the player’s head, it would be interesting to see how the turn of events will unfold as the summer progresses, as the asking price will be something Wenger would easily afford for a player of such quality going on the back of a £100 million transfer kitty set to be handed to the Gunners boss.
In my own opinion, looking at Bony’s outstanding records since his days at the Eredevise side – Vitesse and his current record last season with the Swans, the forward is worth the price tag placed on his head. And should Wenger land the striker, i see no reason why he won’t bring in even more goals at Arsenal.
