The much awaited summer transfer window is here again and many Arsenal fans world wide are yet again expecting a flock of stars at the Emirates this summer especially on the back of Arsene Wenger’s new contract deal that will see the Frenchman remain at the helm of the club till 2017 and a reported £100M transfer kitty set to be handed to the long serving boss.
Wenger is a long-term admirer of the Mario Balotelli, and has been made aware of his availability.
Now Wenger is on red alert to make move for Balotelli with AC Milan ready to offload the former Manchester City striker this summer.
Despite his troublesome reputation, especially during his spell at City where he became one of the Premier League’s most colourful characters, Gunners boss – Wenger still remain a long time admirer of Balotelli and may be willing to move for the Italian striker.
The 23-year-old, who has scored 30 goals in 54 games at Milan, is keen to return to England after becoming surplus to requirements at the San Siro. Coupled with the Italian giants being strapped for cash and want to cash in on him in other to cut their wage bill after signing him for £24m just 18 months ago.
Balotelli was sold by City after a string of bust-ups with former boss Roberto Mancini and he famously set off fireworks in his bathroom which caused the Fire Brigade to be called.
Wenger actually tried to sign Balotelli in the past, before he went to City from Inter Milan and spoke back in 2009 of the Italy international as having potential to reach the very top.
Balotelli’s representatives are flying out to the World Cup to try and tie up a deal for the young Italian during the tournament to take him back to England. But where in England the striker would end up remains unclear now.
Newly contracted boss; Wenger remain busy working for French TV at the tournament but is also keeping an eye for players as he looks to strengthen his strike force for the coming season.
Former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has been offered to Arsenal , while they are also likely to take up a £10m clause to allow them to sign Loic Remy. But if Wenger feels he can keep Balotelli in check then it is a deal which Wenger would likely see through.
