SHOCKING: Chelsea Could Pull Out Of Fabregas Deal As Mourinho Eyes Ramires/Modric Swap Deal.

The battle for the signature of former Arsenal captain Francesc Fabregas is still on and have now taken a new twist. Aside Arsenal making clear their intentions concerning the supposed sale of the Spaniard to fellow Premier League rival Chelsea, now the Blues’ boss seem to have shifted his attentions to Real Madrid midfield maestro Lukas Modric who he managed during his spell at the club.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will look to take advantage of Real Madrid’s interest in Ramires by
asking for Luka Modric in exchange according to the Express.

Carlo Ancelotti wants Ramires in Madrid after working with the Brazilian during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have thus far been adamant that they are not willing to let the 27-year-old leave.

Real upped the ante by offering Isco and Sami Khedira in part-exchange for Ramires, but now Mourinho will look to turn the tables on his former club.

Much as Ancelotti remains a fan of Ramires from his time at Chelsea, Mourinho is a huge admirer of former Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric from his time in charge at the Bernabeu.

And while neither Khedira or Isco tempted Mourinho to change his stance on Ramires, it would be another story altogether if Modric was made available.

Indeed, it is thought that Mourinho may have even put talks over Cesc Fabregas on hold while he works out whether he can get Modric.

Reports suggest that Chelsea are ready to send Ramires and £10m to Madrid to land the Croatian midfielder.

Real, however, are only willing to discuss a deal if Chelsea up their bid to £20m plus Ramires.

That asking price could prove too steep for the Blues, with a deal for Fabregas seemingly still on the table if Modric ends up being out of reach.

With the Blues now looking for alternatives to Fabregas, this could well seem that a deal to sign the former Arsenal captain is still a bit far from conclusion as the Chelsea boss will favour a deal to land Modric ahead of Fabregas.

It will be interesting to see how this whole Fabregas event will unfold as it is believed that there is an untold/hidden story behind all of this that will eventually see our former captain end up at the Emirates this summer.
