After a massive clear out which saw 6 first team players leave the club, Arsenal are set to recruit new players in key positions this summer in preparation for the upcoming season.
Towards the middle of last season, injury plagued the Gunners midfield with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, Mathieu Flamini, Mesut Özil and of course Abou Diaby all taking turns on the treatment table, and which contributed immensely to the collapse of the title chase.
Wenger having that nightmare in mind has decided to add more bodies to an already robust midfield which could arguably be touted as the best in the league.
Reports making the rounds suggests that Arsenal are in for a defensive midfield target with Mundo Deportivo reporting that the north London club has tabled a shock bid of €30 million for Real Madrid star- Sami Khedira.
With Real Madrid reportedly chasing the signature of Luiz Gustavo, it all seems that Sami Khedira is no longer wanted at the club and are willing to listen to offers for the player.
The 27 year old German international who is superb in giving tidy passes and quite renowned for his aerial prowess would be a good acquisition to the team and would provide an extra pair of legs to midfield which would keep the players fresh as none of them would be overplayed.
Özil is a good friend of Khedira and he could be instrumental in bringing him to the Emirates to join the growing German contingent at Arsenal.
