Arsenal Dealt Transfer Blow As Target Reveals Desire To Join Liverpool Ahead Of Arsenal.

Arsenal’s delve into the summer transfer window seem to have picked up the much desired pace which the Arsenal fans have been anticipating with Arsenal being in strong positions in the transfer market to land major signings (Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy) within the coming days with Wenger still looking for replacements for unsettled captain Thomas Vermaelen .

But Wenger’s pursuit for Southampton centre-back; Dejan Lovren has been dealt a blow after the player  revealed his burning desire to play for Liverpool.

The defender has also been linked with a move to north-London this summer and according to reports both Arsenal and Tottenham are keen to sign the Croatian interntaional. But the Saints star has revealed that he has mind set on a summer move to Liverpool.

The Reds have already snapped up Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert from Saints this summer and are looking eager to lure the Croatian to Anfield this summer.

Liverpool boss; Brendan Rodgers submitted a £20m bid for the defender last month but the bid was turned down by Saints officials.

Speaking to Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti Lovren vented his frustration and could not understand why Southampton had rejected the Reds’ £20m offer.

He said: “Liverpool sent the offer and the club haven’t informed me.

“Not even about the subsequent Liverpool bids. That wasn’t right.

“I found out about the bid from other people which disappointed me and I realised I’ve got no business staying at Southampton.

“Liverpool sent a £20 million offer and [Southampton] paid £9m for me so they would’ve earned twice the amount.

“At this point, I don’t know what I’ll do and I don’t like it. It was unbelievable that a few days ago I had an offer of £20m. It was in the morning and by the afternoon the club had said I was not for sale. Frankly, my head is already at Liverpool.”
