The mood around Arsenal’s squad have since been turned on following the official announcement of Arsenal’s first signing of the summer which has lead to many comments and reviews from both the current squad and fans alike.
Alexis Sanchez will help Arsenal challenge for silverware on all front this season, according to Carl Jenkinson.
Since the official announcement of the Sanchez’s move by Arsenal, many of current Arsenal players have warmed up to the idea of the club having secured the services of such a fantastic player. With the likes of Mikel Arteta, Theo Walcott and now Jenkinson hailing the new Arsenal star.
The 22-year-old praised the latest signing by the Gunners and revealed that the new acquisition has also had the squad buzzing with excitement almost as much a that showed by the fans since the official announcement of his arrival was made late last week.
The Arsenal defender has also backed Sanchez to settle quickly into the club’s style of play following his transfer from Barcelona.
When asked about his take on the latest signing – Jenkinson told Arsenal’s official website:
“He is world class and they are the sort of players you want to see at the club. The squad are buzzing as much as the fans, because if you are going to push on as a club and really compete for things, you need to sign top players,”
“We have done that with him for sure — it is a fantastic addition. He’s quick and direct, he can play up front and on the wing, and he is very dynamic. He will definitely fit the Arsenal style of play.”
Arsenal finished last season on a high, winning the FA Cup and ending their nine-year trophy drought.
He added: “Once you have got one [trophy], you want to experience it again, so fingers crossed we can compete on all fronts this season.
“We have the squad and we are signing players like Sanchez, so I don’t see why we can’t.”
Meanwhile, Wenger is still on the lookout for more players in the transfer market to add more quality and depth to his side as the Frenchman is on a mission to put up a squad capable of standing the long haul of the season while challenging for more silverware in all front next season.
