All The Way From New York, Wenger Set To Make Yet Another Shock Signing.

Arsenal are not yet done in the transfer market and are seriously searching for top-notch players to add to the squad. Meanwhile the club seems to have left their fans at the mercy of the media with Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis recently saying that the rumours making the rounds are nowhere near what they are thinking.

Although the Gunners acquired the services of Mathieu Debuchy of late. However, reports have it that they are in the transfer market for yet another right-back to add to the squad.

Arsene Wenger and his men maybe far away from home in New York but has still managed to get the hopes up of fans and media with reports making the round that Arsenal are in a shock move for Saint’s defender.

According to several media outlet such as the Metro, Daily Mail and the Telegraph, Arsenal are in talks with Southampton with the aim of securing the services of Calum Chambers making the youngster their next summer signing.

It is also reported that both clubs are ready to do business and Arsenal are willing to pay a fee within the region of £12 million.

If all goes according to plan, the player would be expected to undergo Medicals subsequently and join the massive exodus of Southampton’s first team players out of the club.

Chambers who played as a midfielder in his earlier days before being drafted into the rightback position, is good at challenging for the aerial balls and loves the ball to the ground, which would suit the Arsenal style of play.

He was an integral part of the Southampton team that finished 8th in the premier league at the 2013/2014 as he made 22 league appearances and impressed plaudits with his solid performances.

It remains to be known why Arsenal are chasing the signature of this 19 year old and this move casts further doubts on the future of Carl Jenkinson at the Emirates.

Fellow Gunners, what do you make of this deal?
Should the club intensify efforts to bring the player to the club or should they just look away.
