Its an old tale now and everyone has heard it that Arsenal has completed the signings of David Ospina and Calum Chambers and both deals are now done just within weeks of sealing the dealings of Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy.
That is 4 fantastic signings in one Summer transfer window and from all indications we are getting, the club is still ready to do business and are looking to bring in a Defensive midfielder to the squad and you sure know that at least one of the 2 targets (Morgan Schneiderlin or Sami Khedira) rumoured to fill the position would be at the Emirates next season.
We the fans haven’t had it like this before and if you ask me, i would say the club has exceeded our expectations this summer transfer window and we are currently being spoilt right now just like an over-pampered kid.
In my opinion, this new signings are an improvement from what we used to have before. Take a look at our new goalkeeper – Ospina, i just can’t believe he’s a gunner, considering the player i saw at the World Cup; who had reflexes like that of a dolphin.
What of Debuchy who sent the contract rebel Sagna to the French bench at the 2014 World Cup, that shows our new signing has some qualities which the French Coach couldn’t resist and preferred to place the defensively solid Sagna to the bench.
This summer transfer window has seen the club spend £66 million within 36 days for just 4 Signings and only Liverpool and of course Chelsea have spent more in the transfer market. I believe this move has sent a statement of intent to the rest of the league that Arsenal are ready to fight for the English Premier league title in the upcoming season.
And unlike the others, Arsenal has spent their money on quality signings not on some overrated player or one who has seen his better days as a footballer.
Wenger has always hammered on the ‘self-sustaining’model and has told all who cares to listen that Arsenal can compete with the very best even without spending just for the sake of spending or with the help of a sugar-daddy; and i’m happy and proud to be part of this club whom UEFA has used as a case study for Financial Fair Play rule and has told other clubs to emulate.
We competed all this years for the title and was able to make the top 4 position with limited funds, what do you think would be the case now that we are financially stable and have assembled a world-class team?
