Arsenal Vs. Benfica: Team News And Predicted Line-up.

The annual Emirates Cup competition is here again and Arsenal as usual is the host of this year’s tournament, which has Benfica, Valencia and AS Monoca also vying for the ceremonial trophy.

The Arsenal players are all prepared and geared up for today’s tie against Benfica, which kicks of 16:20 GMT. However, the Portuguese giants are no minnows therefore the Gunners would have to up their game if they are to stand a chance of coming out victorious because the Águias may have some surprises in the bag.

Wenger in his press conference, yesterday, said that he all his new signings would feature in today’s game except David Ospina who is sustaining a minor injury and Vermaelen is also not going to play since he’s not fully fit.

Rosicky was used as a false-nine in the previous game against New York Red Bulls. But with the abundance of strikers now available in the team, expect Oliver Giroud to lead the attack while Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla play from the right and left wing respectively with Joel Campbell coming on as a substitute.

I think the midfield has selected itself, I expect Ramsey to occupy the No. 10 position in the absence of Ozil while Wilshere continues his learning process at the holding-midfield role with Arteta or flamini assisting him.

The usual suspect-Szczesny should start in the goalkeeping position while Wenger tests the combo of Calum Chambers and Laurent Koscienly in the centre-back positions, as that would be the pairing pending when Per Mertesacker comes back from his extended holiday.

The fans would get to see Mathieu Debuchy play in the right-back position for the first time in an Arsenal shirt today while Wenger could start Monreal ahead Gibbs in the left-back spot.

With all that permutations and assertions, this is how the starting line-up could look like:

_ Debuchy          Chambers        Koscienly        Monreal

_______Arteta              Wilshere

___Sanchez                                     Cazorla

I am looking forward to the game and also longing to see the World cup poster boy-Joel Campbell today. I am not very much interested in the final result however i want to see how our new signings integrate in the team and of course enjoy the football that is made in Arsenal.
